If you like your music fast and loud with the kind of glitchy electronic sound that feels like you’re getting five sugar rushes at once, you’re going to be all over ANAMANAGUCHI. Based in NYC, this four-piece is made up of Pete Berkman, James DeVito, Luke Silas and Ary Warnaar - we caught up with Pete and Ary for a fun Skype chat about Haribo, fashion camp and making it in Japan.

Another Winter - Anamanaguchi from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: the Game

The opening stage music for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game, as composed by Anamanaguchi. It is, in my opinion, one of the finest chiptune pieces in existence, with an amazing blend of NES/Gameboy synthesis and actual live instruments. It has a strong opening riff and a super-energetic finisher. This piece exemplifies the modern retro feel of the game, and the soundtrack is just one of the reasons why Scott Pilgrim is probably my favorite piece of future deadware (which is what the game will become when XBox 360 and PS3 servers shut down and consoles running the game cease to operate.)

Great tune!
